Dr. Lerato Masenya is a specialist psychiatrist and the founder of Brain Haven Psychiatry. With a deep respect for the complexity of each individual’s experience, she offers thoughtful, collaborative support through life’s mental health journeys.
She obtained her medical degree from the University of Cape Town and specialised in psychiatry at the University of the Witwatersrand, where she also completed her Master’s research. Dr. Masenya is a fellow of the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa and is fully registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
Dr. Masenya’s patient-centred approach invites you to walk your health journey with her, exploring care options that align with your story, values, and life context. Her role is not to direct the path, but to walk alongside you—helping you find clarity and healing along the way.
Michelle Kleynhans is the friendly and efficient force behind the bookings and administrative support at Brain Haven Psychiatry. With over 15 years of experience in medical administration, she brings deep industry knowledge and a personal touch to every patient interaction.
Michelle is the founder of Medperfect, a medical administration solutions company. She has worked across various roles from Debtors Management to Authorizations, giving her a well-rounded understanding of the healthcare landscape. Her goal is to make every step, from booking to billing, as clear and stress-free as possible, so you can focus on your care.

Brain Haven Psychiatry operates as a fully digital, paperless practice. After scheduling your appointment, you’ll receive a patient information sheet and consent form to review and sign before your visit.
Your first session is an opportunity for in-depth exploration of your concerns. Dr Masenya will work with you to develop a personalised management plan, which may include diagnoses, prescription, referrals, appointments for more information or assessments, or resources tailored to your journey.
